Which country use GMO the most?

Q.20
Currently, the USA is the world's largest producer of GM crops with 70.9 million ha, 90% of which is accounted for by maize, soybean, and cotton.

However, until 2016, the U.S. government was not allowed to put the label on GM products because of the 1992 policy statement by the U.S.Food and Drug Administration. This law said, "labels are only required if a genetically modified product is materially different from its conventional counterpart."
Many food makers now voluntarily place "No G.M.O." labels on their products as a marketing tactic. Through this battle between consumers and government, finally, food makers will be required by federal law to use the labels, starting in 2020.

  1. It's good news that food makers will be required to inform consumers about whether the product has GMO ingredients or not from next year.

Fortunately, until now, if consumers purchased certified organic products they could be sure there weren't GMO ingredients included. If you would eat at restaurants, you could pretty much assume that care wouldn't be taken to avoid the use of these ingredients...unless it was one that served organic food.
    Cheers,
